"Raven's Monthly Web Only Special" Carving by Monte Fisherman Birdhouse
Hand crafted from Western Red Cedar, it's the perfect nesting spot for small birds like wrens and chickadees... they enter through the nose!
Artisan and Master Carver, Monte Spinker created these birdhouses in 1998. He has now designed over 80 different styles and faces. To this day, he is still creating new faces.
He discovered that there is an Old World belief in house-spirits. They are called by many different names - nissen in Denmark, tomtem in Sweden, tussen in Norway, kobolds in Germany, among others - but they all seem to be of the same sort. As the legend goes, these house-spirits are responsible for bringing good luck to your home and property. And they are responsible for keeping evil spirits away.
Fisherman Fred just caught that big bass he has been dreaming about! You know how those big ones always get away --- well this one didn't and he can prove it! He is holding up his prize bass for everyone to see! Upon special request, you can get a catfish or a musky in place of the bass.
He measures approximately 18" long x 9" wide and 7" deep.
Because these birdhouses come direct from artist please keep in mind that it could take 1-3 weeks for you to receive as each is made to order. Thanks
